Planning a Green Earth Day!
While we usually think of green in March for St. Patrick’s Day, The Roycroft Campus Corporation (RCC) wants you to think more about being green in April. On Thursday, April 10th from 6:30 – 8:30pm, families of all ages are encouraged to learn more about environmentally smart ways that each of us can be “green” and make a difference in the outcomes for the global environment and one’s own personal pocketbook.Committed to providing educational programs, as defined by the RCC mission, it seemed natural for a not-for-profit organization to support environmentally smart practices. At the upcoming presentation, “Planning a Green Earth Day”, Laurie Kutina will offer easy, affordable and effective ways to reduce your energy costs and improve your personal, local and global environment. The Copper Shop, owned and operated by the RCC, is adapting to wiser green practices as well. While planning for the event, Laurie brought to our attention ways that we can start setting a good example and “walk the talk”.
How much money can one really save with fluorescent bulbs? Why should we worry about which cleaning products are used, and are there really effective natural cleaning products out there? What are the biggest energy wasters? What do all those numbers and letters on plastic containers mean and which ones can be recycled? What is “green-washing”? What are the benefits of buying organic foods?
Looking for answers to these questions? Do you have additional ones of your own? Please register at (716) 655-0261 or e-mail croot@roycroftcampuscorp.com and learn how to take action and be proud of your “green” efforts! This event is complimentary to RCC members and a $5 charge applies to the general public.
