All levels of ability welcome to join this basket weaving class.  Students make their own basket to take home, with the option to dye the basket with natural black walnut stain.  The instructor will also discuss different materials used in making all types of baskets on and off a mold.

Instructor: CURRIE BASKETKathleen Currie, Roycroft Master Artisan started her basket making in Parkville, Missouri at the Parville Fine Arts Gallery. Since that time Kathleen has taken instruction from many basket weavers all over the country. The style she has perfected is traditional with her own personal touch. The baskets are formed without molds or machine, so no two are alike. In 1998, Kathleen started weaving Nantucket Lightship Baskets which are woven over a wood mold. Kathleen now travels annually to the island of Nantucket to study basket making.
